Ms. Stephanie A. Echols

I was the first African-American Student Congress executive board member, as Treasurer (2008-2009), in Franklin College's history.

I loved representing my African-American student body as well as the entire FC student body.

As treasurer I had to oversee and manage a $95,000.00 budget and distribute that among 30+ organizations, including the Student Congress budget.

I was also the Founding President of the first Black Student Union (2006-2008).

The BSU was awarded the Franklin College Student Organization of the Year Award in 2009.

An annual event that the BSU sponsored and created also was awarded the Student Organization Event/Project of the Year Award also.

I volunteered in 2006 for Hurricane Katrina Relief along with other teens in my church’s Youth Ministry.

I also volunteered at the Marion County Homeless Initiative Program (2007-2008), where I assisted employees and people who used the programs services.
